Philippines-Australia 70th Anniversary Celebration
The Australian Embassy, in partnership with the Australia-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce hosted a 70th Anniversary Gala Dinner at the New World Hotel in Makati last November 24. In conjunction with ANZCHAM’s 35th anniversary, the gala dinner has featured the performance of Jeremy Donoval, X-Factor Australia Winner, Cyrus and a collaboration with the Manila Symphony Orchestra.

Before the gala night, New World Hotel’s Executive Chef Robert Davis had introduced the four main dishes he will serve at the dinner. Chef Robert had planned the menu for months to make the event more memorable for guests.

Ms. Amanda Gorely, The Australian Ambassador to the Philippines enthused a desirable and positive relationship between the Philippines and Australia. With the great macroeconomic condition, trade relationship and the economic growing significantly, the bond between the two countries is expected to be promising in the next years to come.
“The celebration of ‘The First of 70 years’ of diplomatic relationship is forward looking. And with the Presidential Proclamation marking 22 May annually as Philippines-Australia Friendship Day, we have the opportunity to continue to celebrate the strong links beyond this anniversary year” Ambassador Gorely added.
“I think this is the most purposeful and most economic administration ever seen by Australia” said Tom Grealy, ANZHCAM-Philippines president when asked on evolving relationship between Philippines and Australia.
