Animahenasyon partners with Spanish Embassy for a series of animated film screenings and workshops
In celebration of its 10th year, Animahenasyon – a Philippine animation festival – will be partnering up with the Embassy of Spain in the Philippines, as well as other Spanish agencies in the country. Together, the plan to make Bridging the Gap (BTG): Animation Lab possible.
BTG Animation Lab is a conference with workshops, lectures, and individual meeting for both beginners and professionals in animation. The workshops held discuss various key points on the production, distribution, and marketing of animation works. BTG Animation Lab also aims for animation enthusiasts to build connections with a network of people in the industry, and to further develop and improve its industry in the country.
There will also be screening of Spanish animated films which are “either previously difficult to access or seemingly non-existent due to their condition prior to their restoration and digitization.” While there will be screening of historical films – some dating back to 1908 – there will also be screening of films which were made from 1975 to the present years.
Aside from these screenings and workshops, attendees will also get the chance to interact with Carolina Lopez, curator of the film program which presents a variety of hand-drawn, stop-motions, and digital animations which revolve in a wide range of themes and stories.
Animahenasyon will be held from November 22-26 at the Samsung Hall, SM Aura, Taguig City.
