On November 18, 2016, according to bicolmail.com, PNR engineers will travel by train from Manila to Ragay town in Camarines Sur for the safety assessment of the railways.

Four years ago, PNR stopped its operations to Naga City after one of its trains was derailed in Quezon province due to typhoon-damaged bridges.

Naga City PNR manager Engr. Jose Florece said that the engineers will be fetched by the only running train from the other end of the collapsed rail bridge in Ragay town for them to continue the assessment of the railways leading to Naga City.

He added that the restoration of the rail bridge in Ragay town is ongoing and at least two meters of the rail bridge are yet to be repaired to fully restore it. It is expected to be passable for the train on December 8, 2016.

Two sets of three-coach train with a 300-passenger capacity will be commissioned and each will have two sleeper coaches and one reclining aircon coach.
