Filipina’s artwork featured on Starbucks’ holiday cups
The holiday season is simply one of the most-awaited time of the year, not only because everything around us turns into something festive and bright, but also because of the Christmas specials that stores, restaurants, and coffee shops release. The most famous of them all, probably, is Starbucks’ holiday drinks, planners (and the stickers you collect to get them), and of course, the red cups.
The design of the red cups change annually, and for this year, Starbucks released 13 different artworks that show how people from all around the world show their own take on what Christmas is for them. One of these holiday cups were designed by Filipina, Anz Soza. She was the one behind the cup with ornaments and dreamcatchers.
Soza, in an interview with CNN Philippines, said that it wasn’t her first time to draw on a cup. It started as a hobby last year, when her husband brought her a red cup. Since then, she has already drawn on 83 cups.
Christmas is Soza’s favorite time of the year, and this is the reason why she kept on drawing on Christmas cups. She wanted to make everyone feel the holiday spirit through her artwork, and the mere thought of seeing people being happy by looking at her artwork makes her feel the happiest.
For her, the artwork that are imprinted on the cups distributed to over 25,000 worldwide is her way of connecting and talking to the people. It is her own way of saying “that despite having a bad day or a hectic schedule, everything is going to be okay.”
