Pop-star royalty and TV personality Sarah Geronimo was named as this year’s “Best Asian Performer” during the Classic Rock Awards 2016 held in Ryogoku Kokugikan Stadium in Tokyo, Japan last November 11, Friday.
The Classic Rock Roll Of Honour is an annual awards program established in 2005 by Classic Rock Magazine. Winners of the awards are chosen by the awards team and voted on by readers of the magazine. The 2016 edition of the Classic Rock awards marked the first time it was held in Japan.
The 28-year old singer performed a rock version of Freddie Aguilar’s “Anak” in front of the 8,000 crowd, along with top musicians Jeff Beck, Joe Perry, Phil Collen, Joe Elliott, Richie Sambora, Orianthi, Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page, Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott, Cheap Trick, Kirk Hammett of Metallica, and Joe Walsh of Eagles to name a few.
