‘FREEDOM OF INFORMATION PORTAL.’ This website seeks to prevent corruption and promote transparency in government projects.

In a report published by PhilStar, Department of Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade said that this new website will “provide information about contracts, status of projects and their contractors. Tugade noted that this was in relation to President Duterte’s promise for the country to have a clean government free from corruption.

This plan to launch the Freedom of Information portal was said to have been announced to ask Congress for special powers in addressing traffic problems in Metro Manila.

“We shall be transparent and we shall be accountable,” said Tugade as quoted by PhilStar.

According to the report, the website is expected to be launched by the end of 2016.
