Sec. Andanar also cited that the PCO will coordinate with Japanese officials regarding the said agenda. He also added that “PCO would sign a memorandum with Japanese state media officials” regarding the innovation of the state-owned People’s Television (PTV-4) and Radyo ng Bayan, which is Philippines’ Broadcasting Service.”

President Duterte is set for an official visit to Japan from October 25 to 27, 2016. In a report by ABS-CBN published in 2013, it was stated that Japan has been urging PH to adopt the Japanese digital TV standard, which is now on the works as per Sec. Andanar.
