    Food Hero Asia winner, Chef Anton Amoncio in his resturant in Quezon City

    Filipino chef Anton Amoncio has just been announced winner of the “Food Hero Asia” competition in Singapore last October 20, Thursday.

    Food Hero Asia is an Asia-wide talent search to find exceptional home cooks and aspiring presenters good enough to be crowned Asian Food Channel’s and Food Network’s next new Food. Two talents will be selected and given the opportunity of a lifetime to star on either of the networks.

    Amoncio, 25, chef and owner of Antojos Restaurante in Quezon City, bested two other finalists from Malaysia and one finalist from Thailand.

    As winner, Amoncio will join Scripps Network Interactive, the cable television company, as the newest talent on its programs on the Asian Food Channel and Food Network.
