    According to a new survey conducted by Pulse Asia, a public opinion polling body in the Philippines, increasing the salary of the workers still tops the most urgent concern of the Filipinos.

    The poll, which was conducted from September  25 to October 1, shows that most Filipinos regards increasing of salary and generating more jobs as the most urgent national issues that the government must address with 46% and 38% respectively.

    The results of the survey, which was released on Monday (October 17), also shows that other national concerns deemed urgent by Filipinos include promoting peace in the country (20%), enforcing the rule of law (14%), reducing the amount of taxes paid by citizens (12%), protecting the environment (10%), controlling rapid population growth (9%) and protecting the welfare of overseas Filipino workers (8%).

    In contrast, Filipinos are least concerned about terrorism (5%), national territorial integrity (5%) and Charter Change or Constitutional Reform (2%).
