Travellers International to open Sheraton, Hilton hotels at Resorts World Manila in 2017

Travellers International, developer and operator of Resorts World Manila, seeks to expand its hotel business by adding a Sheraton and Hilton Hotel to the integrated tourism resort by the fourth quarter of 2017.

In an article published on The Philippine Star, Travellers President Kingson U. Sian said Sheraton and Westin Hotels, operated by Starwood Asia Pacific Hotels & Resorts group, as well as Hilton Hotels are set to join the Marriott Hotel and Maxim Hotel in 2017.

The addition of the Sheraton and Hilton hotels will push Resorts World Manila’s rooms to 2,100 when combined with expansions for the Marriott and Maxim hotels. The Westin hotel, on the other hand, will be housed at Bayshore City Resorts World, expected to open in 2018.

All these hotels combined will give Travellers International a reason to call itself the biggest leisure and entertainment company in the Philippines.

Access to these hotels will be made easier thanks to a walkway that will connect Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 to Resorts World Manila, located across the terminal.

According to a Philippine Daily Inquirer article, former Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) General Manager Jose Angel Honrado, “There was a MIAA resolution approving the proposal from Resorts World Manila.” Honrado added that this project would only be realized after the NAIA Expressway is completed.

With news that a section of the NAIA Expressway will be opened this month and the expressway set to be finished later this year, it should give Travellers a bigger incentive to finish these projects.
