  • The best of Japan’s seasons: visit Nagano Prefecture today!
  • Japan has long been on the list of every world traveler. Itineraries, however, are usually limited to Tokyo and Osaka. There is one place in Japan that has seen a surge in recent years: Nagano prefecture. The second Nagano Tourism Seminar and Business Meeting, held last Thursday, September 15 at the City Grand Garden Hotel looked to introduce Filipinos to the growing tourist destination.

Sponsored by the Nagano Prefecture and the Hachijuni Bank, this year’s seminar brought roughly 20 businesses together, twice more than they had last year.

A MESSAGE FROM HACHIJUNI BANK. Hondo Tomoyasu, Singaporean Chief Representative for the Hachijuni Bank also spoke about Nagano.

Officials and residents of Nagano Prefecture introduced their many tourist destinations, some of them having stood the test of time. Nagano is held in high regard by the Japanese as the best place to experience all four seasons in Japan.

THE GROWING APPEAL OF NAGANO. Anthony Blair, a member of the International Tourism Promotion Office of Nagano Prefecture and a former English teacher, helped introduce Nagano Prefecture with a 10-minute mini-movie.

It’s rich in culture and history, along with a multitude of ski resorts, castles, hot springs, and nature trips that will surely entice any traveler, all shown in a mini-movie that showcases the best of Nagano Prefecture.

Last year, at least 26 million Filipinos visited Japan, though only 5,000 visited Nagano prefecture. With an influx of tourists coming to Japan, there is an ever-increasing interest in visiting places other than Tokyo and Osaka.

If you’re looking to know more about Nagano Prefecture for yourself, make sure you go to the 2nd Japan Travel Festival on October 1 and 2 to see an exhibition of this beautiful prefecture. The 2nd Japan Travel Festival will take place at Glorietta 3 in Makati City.
