  • The Filipino film industry is continuously excelling in the world stage as six films from the Philippines are competing in various categories at the International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema Berlin in Germany from October 22 to 29.

    Sourced from Inquirer’s report, part of the films included to premier in the film fest is Iadya Mo Kami (Deliver Us), vying for four trophies in the Foreign Language film section for best lead actor (Allen Dizon), supporting actor (Eddie Garcia), director (Mel Chionglo), and foreign language feature film. It is also competing for top honors in a film festival in Italy on September.

    Also nominated in the film fest is Tomodachi (friend), competing got best lead actor (Jacky Woo), director (Joel Lamangan), cinematography (Ron Lacap Gozon), original screenplay (Eric Ramos), original score (Emerzon Tecson and Woo), and foreign language film.

    Kaikou by Woo is nominated for best director, foreign language feature, cinematography, and costume. Ronaldo Bertubin’s Ku’te is nominated for best director of a foreign language film and lead actress. Walang Take Two by Alvin Galang is competing for Jury Award and best lead actress. An Open Door is nominated for best story, director of feature documentary, and editing.

    The International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema Berlin, established in 2006, the festival aims to give Independent filmmakers the platform to showcase their work.
