Tropical Storm “Butchoy” expected to enter PAR later today
Less than a week after “Ambo” brought rains to the country, another tropical storm is set to bring more rain to parts of the Philippines. Severe tropical storm Butchoy (international name “Nepartak”) is set to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Tuesday afternoon, July 5.

According to the latest public weather forecast from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Butchoy was last spotted 1,460 km east of Virac, Catanduanes. The tropical storm brings maximum sustained winds of 105 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 135 kph, moving northwest at 30 kph.
It is not expected to make landfall in the country if it continues on its current track, which shocws it hitting Taiwan and the Ryuku Islands according to a report from CNN Philippines.
In the same forecast, cloudy skies with light to moderate rains will be experienced over CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Davao Region, and over the provinces of Zambales and Bataan. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
