Philippines – Japan Business Matching Event
Last February 23, organizers from Japan held a business matching event in Makati, to develop new partnerships in various sectors such as trading, retail, distribution, food, healthcare and other business industries. The Sunshine Place in Jupiter, Makati was attended by 12 business companies, ready to network their respective businesses.
It was a private event between the Japanese and Filipino businessmen to get local distributor, investors and business partners in the Philippines. It is a concept that started in 2014, the business matching event is a private event and is funded by the government. Mr. Yutaka Kitade organized the event along with Fuji TV, one of the largest TV conglomerates in Japan like ABS-CBN. On their first year, they had a small project with Lifestyle Network. Last 2015, they brought Kris Aquino to Japan to explore and feature the country in her TV show called Kris TV. This year, they had Anne Curtis feature Shikoku, a main island in Japan in ABS-CBN’s noontime show – It’s Showtime. In parallel with this, Fuji TV also brought Mr. Sandy Daza, to feature Japan in his program Foodprints.

The Japanese government like Japan Tourism Board, Ministry of Communication and General Affairs, funds TV stations like Fuji TV to sponsor local networks in the Philippines to promote Japan.
The event started with a 2- minute presentation from each company. It provided them an opportunity to feature their products to local attendees. After the presentation, everyone at the event had a chance to continue networking their business with socializing on the side.

Overall, the Japanese businessmen had a fruitful trip to the Philippines. This event helps create connections of Japanese companies here in the Philippines. We look forward to having more events such as this in the future.
