Filipina wins as Mrs. Grandma Universal 2016
Following Ms. Universe Pia Wurtzbach’s victory, another Filipina brings home the crown from the Mrs. Grandma Universe 2016 pageant held in Sofia, Bulgaria last Thursday (January 21).

Babylyn Decena-Newfield, 48, an entrepreneur, is the first Filipina to ever win the crown. She bested other 50 contestants for the said international pageant wherein she was handpicked by the pageant’s local franchisor Ovette Ricalde to join.
At her age, Babylyn still regularly maintains her fitness as she is into Muay-thai, a combat sport, which is also what she demonstrated for the talent portion of the pageant.
As a mother of four and a grandmother to four grandchildren, Babylyn vowed to be the “voice of all grandmothers.” Also, she said that being a grandmother is not only about taking care of grandchildren but according to her, it can she is an ideal grandmother who is competitive in goals both personally and professionally.
Aside from being a doting grandparent, Babylyn is also the CEO and president of Cartridge-World Philippines, a company that manufactures and supplies ink for distribution.
The Mrs. Grandma Universal pageant is an annual pageant which celebrates ideal grandmothers who are nurturing confident, beautiful, and elegant. The competition started in 2012 and every year, they cover different causes for each event.
