Flow House Manila Opens with a Splash!

It’s summertime! The fun is here, the heat is here, but most importantly, #TheBreakIsHere!

Last Saturday (March 28, 2015), Flow House Manila opened its doors to the media and revealed the best things this gem in Seasons Mall Cavite has to offer – delicious food, sweet cocktails, aqua sports gear and the main attraction, the FlowRider, a ride that generates a perfect ocean swell, which lets everyone experience the thrill of riding waves, all against a backdrop of the best chillout beats and some fireworks!

The power of the FlowRider was showcased by no less than world flowboarding champs, Adam Wildman and Charlie Wright. After a short Q&A during which they expressed how they can’t wait for this sport to explode in Manila, they wowed everyone with their impressive skills, doing flips and twists in the water, showing the many things you can do on the FlowRider. You can simply stand on your board or jump, do a twist and catch your board in mid-air the way skateboarders do. Flowboarding has at times been called the ultimate board sport as it combines surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding and wakeboarding.

After the exhibition, everyone was allowed to try the FlowRider. Adults and kids alike enjoyed the experience, although some admitted that it was really difficult not to get washed up at first. But because the FlowRider generates a steady flow of water, it’s not a problem to try and try again until you find it easy to stay on your board.

For those who had gotten tired from flowboarding, or for those who just wanted to relax, there were also some attractions–a lapping pool, some lounge chairs, cocktail bars and retail stores where you can buy sports watches, waterproof bags, sunglasses and other aqua sports gear.
