City of Dreams Manila Grand Opening
Manila, Philippines – The much anticipated grand opening of the world-class entertainment-inspired destination resort, City of Dreams Manila, has finally happened on Monday, February 2, 2015.
A press conference was hosted by Co-chairman and CEO of Melco Crown Entertainment (MCE), Mr. Lawrence Ho, and Co-chairman, Mr. James Packer.
“Our philosophy is very simple: we want to build things that we’re proud of. We want to build integrated resorts that will last over time,” said Mr. Lawrence Ho as he shared their vision in opening the 6.2 hectare entertainment landscape. “[After Macau, the] Philippines and Manila is really the first place we decided to go into. [It is] one of the fastest growing economies in the world […] and we’re lucky to be here.”
Strategically located at the gateway of Manila’s Entertainment city, the billion-dollar casino resort was developed by MCE Leisure Philippines in cooperation with SM Group’s Belle Corporation.
The dynamic and integrated resort complex brings diverse and unique experiences that include a VIP and mass-market gaming facilities, first-class accommodation from hotels Nobu, Hyatt and Crown Towers, exceptional restaurants, high-end designer brands and many more.

Manila’s most exclusive Ultra-lounge, Pangaea, is situated inside the City of Dreams Manila’s iconic landmark, the Fortune Egg.
“DreamPlay” is the first ever DreamWorks Animation-inspired interactive and technology-rich play space in the world. By March of this year, adults and children alike can interact with their favorite characters from the studio’s popular franchises like Kung Fu Panda, Shrek, and Madagascar.
City of Dreams Manila arranged a glamorous VIP Red Carpet event at the grand opening and a concert of dreams featuring international artists Kelly Rowland and Ne-yo and Filipino musicians Zsa-Zsa Padilla, Gary Valenciano, Jed Madela & Kyla.
