Ishmael Bernal Gallery in UP Diliman: Time Travel in Film
There are a number of museums and galleries in the University of the Philippines Diliman that are open to the public either for free or for a small fee. One is the Ishmael Bernal Gallery in the UP Film Institute (UPFI), which is currently being developed into a sensational exhibit of vintage and modern film equipment.

If you love movies, you can take your fascination one big step further by exploring the world beyond the screens. Ishmael Bernal Gallery will let you see the evolution of filmmaking and animation with their exhibit of vintage and modern film equipment.

On the ground floor, you will find a line-up of traditional equipment, from big cameras to hefty editing and animation machines. The stairs going up will be your passage to another time dimension—the world of modern film.
Currently on the works, the second level of the gallery will showcase the latest technology in film production. It is also where the newly renovated Videotheque is located, where monthly screenings of classic and other featured films are held.
The administration of UP Film Institute hopes to finish the upgrading of the gallery by the end of 2017. In the meantime, you can enjoy free classic film screenings and other events at UPFI’s Cine Adarna and Videotheque.
