When you visit Nagano, why not try snowshoeing. One of the popular place in the region where you can try this winter activity is in Norikura Kogen.  When in Norikura, stop by at Sanoya,  a lodge/hotel that offers a complete tour to Zengorou Falls. They offer snow gear equipment and quick lesson on how to snow shoe. The owner of Sanoya Hotel, Mr. Sasaki, will also be your guide during the hike.  Getting to and from the slopes in Norikura was a breeze, as it is not that hard for beginners. Basically, if you can walk, you can snowshoe. It’s a 30-minute zigzag ascent to get to our destination—the frozen Zengorou falls.  The frozen waterfall glistens to a stunning blue color when hit by sunlight.
