  • Laoag’s ‘Mini Fort Ilocandia’: The Palacio de Laoag
  • The Palacio De Laoag Hotel first opened in 1999 as a Spanish architecture-inspired hotel with modern amenities much like Fort Ilocandia, 2010 saw it go under new management. However, instead of scrapping the old idea, they decided to keep and improve on it.

The hotel now stands as a testament to this idea which the new management calls a “mini-Fort Ilocandia”. It has that rustic charm coupled with modern amenities that government agencies seem to love for their seminars.

Their rooms are great for families with kids on a trip to Laoag with their family rooms. It’s also a great place for a group of friends to stay in thanks to their three dormitory-style rooms. These rooms are not extremely spacious, but they’re larger compared to other hotels within the city of Laoag.

The Palacio’s function rooms are perfect for seminars or events. Each of their three function rooms is air conditioned, equipped with audio-visual equipment, and comes with a set menu that includes morning and afternoon snacks as well as lunch and dinner.

If you’re feeling hungry, there’s no need to go out of the hotel. Their in-house restaurant, Café Marquez, has some of the best food in Laoag at prices that won’t burn a hole in your pocket.. They also have Sultan Music Bar, open every Friday and Saturday, found at the third floor of the hotel.

The hotel also has a pool, ample parking, and WiFi. Pay a visit and get a room at The Palacio de Laoag, located at P. Paterno St., Brgy. 27, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte. For reservations, you can call their Manila office at 02-995-7709 or 0917-541-4549. If you’re in Laoag, you can call them at 077-772-2950 to 51. You can also email them at or visit
