Walk the streets of Asaichi in the morning.

There are more than 250 stores that sell different kinds of products at the morning Market near Hakodate Station. The Morning Market is 3 blocks of seafood goodness. Walk along the streets and have a taste of food and fresh dairy products. Since squids are mostly found in Hakodate, it’s no surprise that the market is filled with vendors selling squids. We recommend that you try to catch a squid from the aquarium and have it cooked. It willcost from 1,280 yen to 2,000 yen (cooking included). The Morning Market is open as early as 5:00am, form Monday to Saturday. At 1:00 pm, almost 50% of the stores will be closed, so it’s better to visit early in the morning. The bustling activity continues until late afternoon.
