Manila Calling Brings a Traveling Art Exhibition to Barcelona, Madrid, Intramuros, and Tokyo
Manila Calling, a traveling exhibition project by Manila Collective Inc. as part of PASA PASA 2027, is set to connect Barcelona, Madrid, Manila, and Tokyo through a multi-city showcase running from May to July 2026.
The project brings together artists from various creative disciplines, including comics, fashion, illustration, tattoo, graffiti, and contemporary visual art. The title carries a dual meaning—it is both a call from Manila and a call for artists from different communities to collaborate.

At the center of Manila Calling is silk, with each artist’s original works transformed into textile pieces that reinterpret the artwork through texture, movement, scale, and light. Rather than simply reproducing original pieces, the exhibition creates new versions shaped by the material itself.
