Instead of considering streets merely as places where both people and vehicle pass to and from various locations, we should consider it a witness to both historical and important events that have and continuously shapes the country’s identity.
Escolta, a rich and culturally preserved street in Manila continues to be alive through a number of written and unrecorded stories but only a few people continue to value the street as part of the country’s colorful and rich history.

This coming October 28, 2017, be part of a sketch walk that will relive Escolta, a street which used to be the Philippines’ central business and shopping district with the Escolta Urban Sketching Tour. This event will take you to significant landmarks around Escolta with a free lecture on the street’s historical background and time allotted for structure sketching.
THE SKETCHWALK SETUP: ESCOLTAITS THIS SATURDAY!! Our Escolta sketch tour is this Saturday. Join us as we take a stroll around the culturally rich Escolta and it's surrounding areas and draw the historical buildings made by important figures in Philippine art history. We'll also be giving you a brief historical overview of each figures in Philippine art history. We'll also be giving you a brief historical overview of each spotIt's worth seeing (and worth drawing). Tickets for this event are priced at Php 300 per head. Participants, on the other hand, are asked to come in their comfortable attire and bring their own sketchpads and art materials. Meet-up for all the participants will take place at the HUB in First United Building.
