PH’s first chocolate museum to open in Davao on December 18
The first ever chocolate museum in the Philippines will be opening its doors to all chocolate-lovers on December 18 at Malagos Garden Resort, Baguio District in Davao City. The said museum will be located beside the chocolate factory of the said resort.
According to an article published by Sun Star Davao, Charisse Puentespina, managing director of Malagos Resort, said that they are hoping that they will be able to open more opportunities and promote their products through the opening of the Chocolate Museum.
Malagos Chocolates are already starting to gain recognition worldwide for their decadent tastes, and more people have flocked to the place to have a taste of the famous treat. Puentespina explained that what drove them to putting up the museum is seeing the eagerness of the peopel to know how they produce the chocolates. “We decided to put up the museum wherein they can see paano ba [ito] gawin, and at the end of their tour, they can make their own chocolates,” she added.
Since Davao is currently considered as the Cacao Capital in the country, Puentespina said that they hope that they would be able to encourage people to do the same – to start with something small as a cacao, and turn them into a business of chocolates or tablea – and promote small and medium entrepreneurs.
