The project was shown to the public in June last year, and it set for the northern tip of Ayala Triangle Gardens at the corner of Makati Ave. and Paseo De Roxas St. Mandarin Hotel, which used to occupy the same spot, closed after 38 years of service in Makati.

The new hotel, named Mandarin Oriental Manila, will be owned and developed by Ayala Land Hotels and Resorts. If all goes according to plan, the new hotel should be up and running by 2020.

To help Ayala Land in this cause, they’ve enlisted the help of Joseph Server and Associates’ team of foresters and horticulturists dedicated to tree care. In a Facebook post, Ayala said “All 71 affected trees have been replanted, 60% of which remain in the Gardens and 40% are in Circuit Makati.”

Apart from the new Mandarin hotel, the same area is expected to house a 39-story office building with 5 levels allotted to basement parking, four floors to retail outlets, and 36 floors for office space.
