According to Dela Rosa, there was a “very significant decrease” in rape incidents and a “downward trend” in crimes such as murder, homicide, homicide, robbery, theft, car theft, motor theft, and physical injuries. 11, 800 crimes were tallied in July 2016 compared to that of July 2015 that recorded 17,105, as seen in a video of the press conference from CNN Philippines.
Also, according to Dela Rosa, this was made successful through the Duterte administration’s “Oplan Double Barrel” or the Anti-drug campaign.
The number of drug personalities who have surrendered before police stations were 673,978, and a total of 11,784 users and pushers have been arrested. “The PNP’s relentless campaign against illegal drugs continues to gain momentum, given the full support of the government and communities, as manifested by the number of [people who surrendered],” Dela Rosa added.
