Rare tornado whizzed past Manila streets
Last Sunday (August 14), videos of a tornado formed in the port area in Manila suddenly went viral on different social media sites, causing panic and great alarm within the general public.
The tornado was reported to have lasted for only about 15 minutes, but it already caused so much damage to houses and establishments near the location. As per reports from the Philippine Star, the tornado was stirred up slowly by strong winds coming in from across Manila Bay that started in Intramuros, and traveled throughout Central Post Office where it dissolved completely.
The Philippines has been experiencing heavy downpour for almost a week before the tornado happened. Some roads and cities in the country were closed due to flooding and a lot of schools have been suspending classes for the safety of all. About 200 houses were damaged, and at least five people have been confirmed killed and several others reported missing because of the calamity.

Tornado is a violent and destructive storm in which powerful winds move around a central point. Philippines is a country made a natural pathway of storms in Asia but what the country experienced last Sunday is a very rare phenomenon. Though Philippine Red Cross stated that there were no reported casualties, authorities are still on a tough task of sending regular warnings to residents to stay updated to the weather forecasts and warnings.
