    Good news for all airport travelers!

    The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) has now started to allow regular taxi cabs to pick up arriving passengers, starting July 18.

    According to Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) General Manager Ed Monreal, around 97,000 passengers arrive in NAIA every day. This new scheme will help “reduce travelers’ waiting time for taxis, and will also help them give more choices for transportation,” as stated in a Philstar report.

    These regular taxis will be located in the following pick up points:

    NAIA Terminal 1 – secondary roadway of main arrival area;

    NAIA Terminal 2 – secondary roadway, from Bay 22;

    NAIA Terminal 3 – third roadway of arrival area, from Bay 6; and

    NAIA Terminal 4 – exit point.

    To further ensure the safety of the passengers, Monreal was quoted to have said that the passengers will be provided a “dispatch slip,” which indicates the name of the taxi driver, its plate number, and the name of the operator. He assured that any complaint from travelers will be resolved within 72 hours. Also, erring drivers will be banned from NAIA premises and drivers’ license will be revoked once proven guilty of a violation of rules.
