IPPUDO Philippines finally sets foot in Manila!
The 42nd international branch of IPPUDO is finally opening its flagship store in the Philippines at one of the premiere shopping destinations in the city, Mega Fashion Hall.
Today, Primer was invited to the food tasting event and press preview of IPPUDO PH!
Many VIPs also attended the event.
Founder Mr. Shigemi Kawahara, also known as the “Ramen King”, flew over to the Philippines to personally open this branch.
At the opening, Mr. Kawahara told everyone that he is pleased that they are finally opening a branch in “the country of smiles.” He aims to make the Filipinos happy with their ramen.
Founder of Standard Hospitality Group, Mr. John Concepcion was also present. SHG is the company behind this culinary introduction and the company that brought the all-time Japanese favorite YABU: House of Katsu.
Filipino ramen aficionados can expect a complete and unique dining experience at IPPUDO Philippines.
The restaurant will be serving its famous signature ramen dishes.
Shiromaru Motoaji– original tonkotsu broth served with ultra-thin noodles, pork loin, bean sprouts, kikurage and spring onions
Akamaru Modern – a modern reinvention featuring special blended miso paste and fragrant garlic oil in addition to pork belly, bean sprouts, kikurage and spring onions
And Karaka-men – thin, curly noodles, spicy miso paste, fragrant garlic oil and ground pork, with cashew nuts and pork belly
The side dishes that can be paired are arranged for Filipino tastes.

(Curry Cheese Harumaki, Oroshi Ponzu Gyoza, Pork Bun)
Mr. Kawahara prepared the ramen dishes for the guests.
IPPUDO Philippines will be operated by Japanese chef Mr. Yota Shiiba (middle).
The restaurant boasts a stylish and relaxing ambiance, where guests can unwind over lunch or dinner.
