    Number of cases

    As of 4:00 p.m. today, the Department of Health (DOH) has reported 152 new cases of COVID-19 in the country, raising the total number to 3,246.

    DOH also reported 7 additional recoveries and new mortalities resulting in a total of 64 recoveries and 152 mortalities.

    Total cases of COVID-19 among OFWs total to 517

    The Department of Foreign Affairs reported that a total number of 517 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) have contracted COVID-19. There are 52 confirmed cases in the Middle East, 182 cases in Europe, 215 cases in the Asia Pacific Region and 68 cases in America.

    List of COVID-19 testing laboratories are now accessible on Google and Waze

    The Department of Health (DOH) announced that the locations of COVID-19 testing laboratories are now listed on Google and Waze to make it easier for the public who require testing to find the nearest medical facility within their vicinity.

    Camiguin records first case of COVID-19

    Camiguin Governor JJ Romualdo in a Facebook video announced the first case of COVID-19 in the city. The patient, who tested positive for the new coronavirus on March 3, was put under a mandatory 21-day quarantine. Additionally, the patient was learned to have traveled to Manila with the purpose of attending a conference.

    The authorities were also informed that a lecturer who was present in the conference held in Manila, tested positive for COVID-19. Governor JJ Romualdo has instructed an immediate contact-tracing in order to prevent the further spread of the virus in Camiguin. He also reminded the residents of Camiguin to comply with the health protocols as they have insufficient materials should a huge number of cases appear.

    Province of Rizal under total lockdown

    In a statement released by the Provincial Government of Rizal, Governor Reynaldo H. San Juan Jr. announced that the entire province of Rizal will be on total lockdown starting tomorrow, April 6, 2020, at 8:00 a.m. until further notice.

    All establishments and business operations in Rizal shall temporarily close with the exception of those offering basic necessities.

     

    Medical team from China arrives in Manila

    The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in a Facebook post stated that the medical team from China consisting of 10 medical experts and two officials has already arrived in the country. They were welcomed by Communications Secretary Martin Andanar, Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr., and Health Secretary Francisco Duque III.

    Moreover, it was also stated that the Chinese medical team has also brought with them medical supplies such as masks, respirators, ventilators, personal protective equipment and other anti-epidemic materials. They will also offer assistance by sharing technical advice to help combat and prevent the spread COVID-19.
