The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology placed the Taal Volcano under Alert Level 4 last January 13, 2019, which means a hazardous eruption is imminent for the coming days.

With the danger this poses accompanied by the heavy ashfall occurring for days in the Southern Luzon area, residents near the volcano have been evacuated from their homes especially those residing in the provinces of Batangas and Cavite.
