“The U.S. Embassy in Manila will assume responsibility for certain limited services previously provided by USCIS to individuals residing in the Philippines,” the USCIS said in the statement published on their website.

It had begun redirecting Forms I-130 or the Petition for Alien Relative to the USCIS lockbox since May 14, 2019. The Petition for Alien Relative is the first step needed to help a relative migrate to the United States.

The statement also detailed on the redirection of other forms the office once handled including Form I-360 or the Petition for Amerasian, Widow(er), or Special Immigrant, Form I-131A or the Application for Travel Document (Carrier Documentation), Form I-730 or the Refugee/Asylee Relative Petition, Form I-407 or the Record of Abandonment of Lawful Permanent Resident Status, Form N-400 or the Application for Naturalization, and the Filipino World War II Veterans Parole (FWVP) Program.

The full instruction of redirection for the forms above may be viewed here

The office set May 31, 2019 to be the last day of accepting final applications and petitions.

US Citizenship & Immigration Office (USCIS) is in charge of overseeing the process of immigration to the United States.
