  • The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) announced it is still accepting entries for its first digital photography contest in the Philippines until 15 September 2017.

    The contest theme “JICA and the Filipinos: Images of a Better Tomorrow” aims to highlight the impact of JICA cooperation activities in the Philippines and to the Filipino people.

    A JICA-assisted Pasig-Marikina River Channel Improvement Project to curb flooding in Metro Manila

    The contest is open to all Filipino non-professional photographers and students aged 18 years old and up. Prizes include mirrorless digital cameras from a popular Japanese camera brand.

    JICA, the world’s largest bilateral aid agency, implements Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) with partner countries like the Philippines. Since the 1960s, JICA has been supporting Philippine inclusive development through various development cooperation activities promoting sustainable economic growth, poverty reduction, and Mindanao peace and development.
