  • Westgate Food Crawl: A walk in the Village of Flavors
  • Just a 30-45 minute ride from Metro Manila, Westgate in Alabang, Muntinlupa City is the place for a food adventure. Experience the relaxed, cool environment that the South is known for.

Westgate Center annually invites members of the press and bloggers to get a bite at some of Westgate’s restaurants at the Westgate Food Crawl. This year, on August 9, 2017, everyone had the chance to try different cuisines from various restaurants who joined the event.

Westgate is a 9.2-hectare open-air retail concept that challenges the confines of malls, creating a main street ambiance conducive to relaxation and recreation. It is a village within a big village, combining innovative dining, retail and lifestyle concepts in a neo-cosmopolitan setting.  It shows off the Alabang lifestyle while welcoming tourist and locals.

It is also a premier development project of Filinvest Alabang Inc. in the Filinvest City, Alabang, Muntinlupa. The food crawl was a whole day event that involves six restaurants, namely Melo’s, Brother’s Burger, Alba’s, Butamaru, Neil’s Kitchen, and UCC Cafe. 30-45 minutes were allotted to each of the six restaurants participating in the food crawl.

Famous for their Paella, Alba’s serves authentic Spanish dishes to the press and bloggers

Butamaru opened their newest branch at Ortigas Home Depot in Pasig, it is on a dry run.

Upon arrival in each restaurant, the host introduces the restaurant with a brief discussion of the dishes and background of the establishment. Members of the press and bloggers are then allowed to take pictures of the interiors, the dishes themselves, and interview a representative of the restaurant.  Chow time follows, where each can try a highlighted dish or a specialty.

Members of the press and bloggers take pictures of all the dishes prepared

Although the event is a food crawl, everyone is encouraged to eat and try every dish — but without the literal meaning of crawl or the act of crawling after each restaurant. Everyone tried each dish, took photos and posted it on their social media account.

The Westgate Food Crawl encourages bloggers to promote and try new dishes or famous dishes for all the restaurants who participated. As this is an annual event, we can only expect to have more West Gate food crawls in the future.
