According to Estrada, the use of body cameras is an effective way to cut down corruption and misbehavior among the traffic enforcers.

Meanwhile, MTPB chief Dennis Alcoreza said, as cited by Philippine Daily Inquirer, that this initiative would also serve as protection for the traffic enforcers against rude motorists.

He explained that the target is to have one body camera per enforcer and give each of them a communication radio as well.

Based on reports, the cost of a body camera unit is around P8,500 to P12,000.
