Department of Agriculture targets P900-M equipment loan from Japan
In a report published by Philippine Star, the Department of Agriculture targets to modernize the sector to reduce post-harvest losses and ensure increased productivity with the help of a P900-million equipment loan from the Japanese government.

According to Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol, they are looking into possible loan availment from the Japanese government to modernize Philippine agriculture.
He added that “we are drafting the parameters and details that would involve mechanization, improvement of technology and logistics.”
By January, Piñol hopes to have President Duterte and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe sign the memorandum of agreement.
Meanwhile, Manila Bulletin reported that Prime Minister Abe is set to visit Manila and Davao on January 12, 2016 to January 13, 2016.
