Japan Fiesta 2023 Forges Deeper Bonds between Philippines, Japan
For the first time since 2019, Japan Fiesta has returned onsite to foster deeper bonds and boost tourism between Japan and the Philippines.

Held at the Glorietta Activity Center and Palm Drive Center in Makati City from Feb. 18-19, Japan Fiesta 2023 has attracted a large number of participants who wished to learn more about The Land of the Rising Sun’s culture, tourist destinations, food, among others.

Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco and Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Kazuhiko Koshikawa, who both graced the event, said it would foster friendship and boost the tourism industry in both countries. The Philippines is participating in the World Expo 2025, which is expected to draw about 28 million visitors from across the world, will take place in Osaka, Japan from April 13 to Oct. 13, 2025.
This year’s edition was co-hosted by Japanese singer Aisaku Yokogawa, “The Voice Kids” finalist Sharla Cerilles, and Japanese comedian Yuki Horikoshi.
During the two-day event, participants were able to book tickets and schedule tours from the exhibitor booths.

They also enjoyed Japanese snacks and drinks at the food booths, participated in fun-filled games and activities, and watched stunning performances from various Japanese performing groups such as Namahage Satokagura, all-girl groups MNL48 and R RULES, and cosplay group OtaCute.

Japan Fiesta 2023 was organized by the Japan Fiesta Council, which includes the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines, Japan National Tourism Organization, The Japan Foundation, The Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Philippines Inc. and The Japanese Association Manila, Inc.
