Local Airlines Extend Flight Cancellations to May 15
Local airlines have announced further cancelations of their commercial flights due to the recent extension of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila and other high-risk provinces in the country until May 15, and the implementation of general community quarantine (GCQ) in moderate to low-risk areas.
Philippine Airlines (PAL), on its website, has confirmed that the airline is canceling its local and international flights up to May 15 in compliance with the ECQ guidelines. Affected passengers were immediately sent an e-mail to notify them of the said announcement.

For those who are booked on a canceled flight, PAL assures that your tickets will remain valid. You may check for options for changes to your booking here.
PAL intends to resume operations by May 16, 2020, “if warranted by Philippine and international authorities, global public health conditions and the travel environment.”
Cebu Pacific Air has also announced that all its domestic and international flights remain canceled until May 15. However, it will continue to mount all-cargo flights to help transport vital goods across the Philippines.

AirAsia also halts the operations of its local and international Z2 flights due to the extended ECQ. With that, guests with existing flight bookings made on or before April 24 with a departure date between March 23 and June 30, 2020 will now be able to select from flexible travel options provided by the airline including unlimited flight change and retaining the value of the flight booking in the guest’s AirAsia BIG Member account for future travel.

Last April 24, President Rodrigo Duterte has accepted the recommendation made by the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF-MEID) to extend the enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, and other high-risk provinces until May 15, 2020.
