  • You may already know that the Luzon-wide Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) has been extended again until May 15. With that, whether you have a list of plans or not on how to get through this extended ECQ, you might as well add a space for Shakespeare because Globe Theatre is streaming Shakespeare’s greatest plays for free on YouTube!

    Since all buildings and establishments around the world, including production studios, are temporarily closed due to COVID-19, most of them went online to share fun and excitement, which their viewers could virtually attend.

    Luckily, if you search for Shakespeare’s mind-blowing plays back then, you can now find and enjoy it at home or wherever you are. Below are the greatest plays of the Romeo and Juliet creator, which Globe Theatre has made available for all of us as part of The Globe’s YouTube Premieres. 

    Romeo and Juliet

    The 2009 production of Romeo and Juliet is now available on YouTube until May 3, 2020. The original performance of Shakespeare’s romantic-tragedy story took place at the Globe Theatre, London, during the summer season.

    Macbeth

    The 2020 version of Shakespeare’s Macbeth is part of the Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank.

    Meanwhile, Hamlet (2018) premiered last April 6 to 19, 2020. Don’t worry because this is still available for rent on Globe Player. You can also buy Hamlet and enjoy it all year round.

    Further, these Shakespeare plays will premiere on Globe Theatre’s YouTube Channel every two weeks starting this month!
