Legazpi Sunday Market Continues Its Operation Amid ECQ
Makati City—a place that’s always awake and alive. Those are the two words that best describe the city which was hailed as the country’s financial hub. Tall condominiums, offices and firms, malls and restaurants, as well as tons of business establishments, surround the area.
However, as Luzon-wide Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) continues, Makati is one of the places that went quiet too. Streets went almost empty, so as establishments. With that, most people rely on several delivery methods like Grab Food, Food Panda, and Lala Food for their primary needs like food.
Just in case you’re tired of tapping the screens of your phone, here’s a bit of good news for you. The Legazpi Sunday Market is back!
Established in 2005, Legazpi Sunday Market was widely known for its stalls with various products. But since Luzon is still under ECQ, the market decided to focus on offering nutritious goods such as eggs, fish, bread, and fresh vegetables. Other than these products, a lot of fresh produce from local growers can also be found in this market.
As Legazpi Sunday Market brought their operation back, safety measures are strictly observed before entering the area. Two of these measures are checking body temperature and sanitation using disinfectant provided by the market. These safety measures also include the use of face masks and social distancing rule among shoppers.
Meanwhile, the market has been temporarily relocated to Corinthian Carpark between Corinthian Plaza and Washington Sycip Plaza. Open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, shoppers can grab and purchase their kitchen needs until 11 a.m. only.
