    Number of cases

    The Department of Health (DOH) has reported 220 new cases of COVID-19 in the country, raising the total number to 4,648.

    40 new recoveries and 50 additional mortalities were also recorded resulting in a total of 197 recoveries and 297 mortalities.

    IATF orders public disclosure of personal information of COVID-19 patients

    In IATF’s briefing for today, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles has ordered to publicly disclose personal information of COVID-19 patients to aid in the contract tracing efforts of the government.

    Nograles stated that the national government instructed the joint cooperation of The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) with other agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs) to spearhead the contract-tracing efforts of the government. Rest assured, the OCD and the Department of Health (DOH) will uphold a data-sharing agreement (DSA) in fulfillment of the Republic Act No. 10173.

    Upon arrival, the OFWs were subjected to mandatory inspection followed by an assessment and briefing by the Bureau of Quarantine and Bureau of International Health Cooperation. They shall undergo a 14-day home quarantine.

    DFA promises to continue its operations of bringing home distressed land and sea-based Overseas Filipino Workers that have been affected by the outbreak of COVID-19 even after Holy Week.

    The Department of Health Center for Health Development (DOH CHD) – Bicol confirmed a new case of COVID-19 in the region, resulting in 18 confirmed cases. The patient is a 28-year old female from Albay who contracted the virus by exposure to a positive COVID-19 case.

    DOH CHD – Bicol reminds the public to strictly practice social distancing measures by maintaining at least one meter distance to prevent the further spread of the virus.

    Oriental Mindoro records 6th COVID-19 case

    In a Facebook post, Governor Humerlito Dolor announced Oriental Mindoro’s 6th COVID-19 case, a 21-year old male from Barangay Teresita, Mansalay.

    Patient 57 was admitted to a hospital on April 3 and was diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis and pneumonia. The patient has no recorded travel history. Tests are still on-going to confirm the patient’s current state. Meanwhile, Governor Dolor reassures the public that the patient’s family is not showing any symptoms of the virus and as well as the ambulance driver that brought the patient in.

    He then strongly urged the public to strictly comply with home quarantine, physical distancing, liquor ban, wearing of face masks and taking note of the assigned day for going out to the public market.
