LRT-2 to Give Free Rides on December 30 to Commemorate Rizal Day
In commemoration of the 123rd Rizal Day, the Light Rail Transit Authority Line 2 (LRT-2) will be giving free rides to passengers on December 30, 2019.
In light of giving free rides, the LRTA also reminds the public to remember Dr. Jose Rizal’s heroism on the day.
Commuters may avail of their free rides on the following time slots:
- 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
- 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Do note that the free rides will only be given on December 30 at the specified time slots.

Rizal Day commemorates and celebrates the life and works of the National Hero of the Philippines, Dr. Jose P. Rizal.
Under the decree issued by Former President Emilio Aguinaldo in 1989, December 30 became a national holiday in the Philippines as a day of remembrance and mourning not only for Rizal but also for the victims of the Spanish Colonial Rule in the Philippines.
