The New Zealand Government will impose a new border security measure requiring visitors to hold a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) before entering the country.

Effective October 1, 2019, visitors from 60 visa waiver countries, including transit passengers from 24 transit visa waiver countries, and Australian Permanent Residents must hold a NZeTA before going to New Zealand.

It applies to people who are traveling on a passport from a visa waiver country/territory, Australian permanent resident, travelers passing through Auckland International Airport, and cruise passengers from a visa required country.

Filipino nationals who have obtained their NZ visas are not required to secure a NZeTA. However, it is required for Filipinos who are to transit to New Zealand without a visa.

The NZeTA can be requested through its mobile app or complete the request form via the Immigration New Zealand website.

It costs NZD 9 for NZeTA requests via mobile app and NZD 12 for NZeTA requests via website
