  • What Went Down at the 6th Speed Networking Night
  • It’s true that it takes great effort to grow a business—one must be brave enough to take the risk and expand their network.

Luckily, the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with the British, Dutch, French, Italian, and Spanish Chambers, brought together big companies at the 6th Speed Networking Night, which took place on September 10, 2019 at Dusit Thani Hotel.

Before the program started, senior executives of local and foreign companies enjoyed their conversation with potential partners while sipping fine beverages from Heineken, Premier Wines & Spirits, Fundador, Don Revy, and Dunbrae Philippines.

The event was hosted by well-known lawyer and TV personality Atty. Tony Abad, pointing out that everyone should make the most of the night and grab the opportunity to make new connections.

He also initiated the ceremonial toast together with representatives from the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, British, Dutch, French, Italian, and Spanish Chambers.

The event adopted the idea of speed dating, wherein you are given limited time to talk to others. But here, instead of exchanging numbers, entrepreneurs swapped business cards with one another, introducing business backgrounds, objectives, and proposals.

On the other hand, instructions were given to achieve a more proper event. One round table had 10 participants from different corporations. Each participant was given 1.5 minutes to introduce themselves and pitch their business to the entire table.

At the end of the networking round, the sound of bell chimes signaled and participants moved to their next allocated table. The same process took place for four rounds.

To hype the atmosphere, exciting prizes were given to lucky winners such as three roundtrip tickets to Europe from Turkish Airlines, the Ivywall Hotel, El Nido Resorts, Club Punta Fuego, and The Farm!

This is the sixth year of Speed Networking Night, aiming to unite companies to achieve a more dynamic business industry.

The average number of attendees has been 200 for five years now—an indicator that entrepreneurs believe that communication is a vital instrument in building strong business relationships.
