  • Taking part in making our cities a greener and healthier environment, Hino Motors Philippines (HMP) formally turned over their 4-wheeler, aircon modern jeepneys to the Pateros-Fort Bonifacio Transport Service and Multi-Purpose Cooperatives (TSMC) and Taguig Transport Service Cooperatives (TSC) at the Philippine Army Clubhouse last July 18, 2018.

    Present during the ceremony were DOTr Secretary Hon. Arthur Tugade, DOTr Assistant Secretary Hon. Mark De Leon, DOTr Usec. Thomas Orbos, LTFRB Chairman Martin Delgra III, OTC Chairman Emmanuel Virtucio, Taguig City Mayor Lani Lopez Cayetano and Makati City Mayor Mar-Len Abigail Binay-Campos. The LTFRB NCR Regional Director, Atty. Zona Russet Tamayo, HMP President Hiroshi Aoki and HMP Chairman Vicente Mills, Jr. also graced the event.

    Executives from Hino Motors Philippines, Marubeni Philippines, DOT, LTFRB, and the local government of Taguig City join the Taguig Transport Service Cooperative (TSC) in a ceremonial key turnover.

    The Pateros-Fort Bonifacio TSMC and Taguig TSC are among the three pre-selected cooperatives first to adopt the PUVMP. They were selected based on their good standing, financial capability, and established management structure. The Pateros-Fort Bonifacio TSMC will receive 137 Hino modern jeepney units while the Taguig TSC will get 279 units.

    These modern jeepney units will use the beep card system for easy payment method. These units have features like speed limiter, GPS, CCTV, a dashboard-mounted camera and air-conditioning. The units can accommodate 23 passengers and has comfortable seatbelt-secured seats and spacious leg room for a hassle-free ride. The official routes of the jeepney are the Gate III of Fort Bonifacio to Guadalupe Market and Bagumbayan, Taguig to Pasig.

    With a goal to move forward and provide a more sustainable transportation system, Hino Motors Philippines (HMP) believes that these modern jeepneys will make commuting safer and more efficient and they are looking forward to partnering with other transport groups in the near future.
