UP ranks higher in Asia’s top universities
The University of the Philippines (UP) has moved up to the 156th rank in the Asia University Rankings this year.

UP is the sole university in the Philippines to ever make it in the Times Higher Education rankings, which use 13 performance indicators that include the learning environment, research, and citations. The Philippine state university first entered the 2017 rankings, placing in the 201st-250th bracket.
UP got an overall score of 26.7, with its citations contributing greatly with a score of 40.0.
In the World University Rankings, UP also moved up to the 601st-800th bracket from above 800.
According to the Times Higher Education website, UP is “one of the best Filipino universities in national rankings and among the top institutions in Asia.” The university is also seen to have improved in terms of academic reputation and international faculty ratio.
The National University of Singapore remains to be the top university in Asia with an overall score of 81.7.
