  • Filipina Olympic silver medalist Hidilyn Diaz bagged two medals at the 2017 International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) World Championships held November 30 in Anaheim, California.

    Diaz lifted 113 kg on the second try in the clean & jerk category, which earned her the silver medal. However, she landed on the 6th place in the snatch.

    Overall, Diaz came in 3rd place in the 53 kg women’s division after lifting a total of 199 kg, for which she earned the bronze medal.

    Diaz previously won the silver medal in the 53kg women’s weightlifting category during the 2016 Rio Olympics. She also plans to join the upcoming 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
