  • The holidays are fast approaching, and the only thing better than the breeze getting colder, nights getting longer, and Christmas carols filling the air is the fact that it is now the time for families, friends, and colleagues to come together and shop, eat, and enjoy the scenery through lighted streets within the metro.

Last November 3, 2017, the much-awaited lighting of the Ayala Avenue in Makati City took place, leaving its audience in awe and in full amazement.’

A few days before the month of December approaches, people in Makati await the signal of the upcoming Christmas season with the ceremonial lighting that takes place along the stretch of Ayala Avenue in Makati City.

The ceremonial Christmas street lighting was attended by known individuals from various sectors like from the Zobel de Ayala family including Jaime Zobel de Ayala, William Coscolluela of W.V. Coscolluela & Associates, Ayala Land President and CEO Bobby Dy, ALI SVP and Strategic Landbank Management Group Head Meean Dy, and Makati Vice Mayor Monique Lagdameyo.

These individuals came together and pressed respective buttons at once, signaling the grand lighting of Ayala Avenue, Makati Avenue, and Paseo de Roxas Street, marking the start of the city’s way of welcoming the upcoming holiday season.

This year, the Makati Central Business District will be adorned with intricate Filipino patterns from various regions nationwide. These patterns are applied to gigantic representations of Christmas symbols, transforming the city itself into truly Filipino Christmas landmarks.

After this grand ceremony, Makati City promises its patrons that they will be granted the opportunity to view the lighted stretch of Ayala Avenue in Makati City as soon as the sun goes down, and allow them to enjoy the upcoming season.
