  • Cake Boss Buddy Valastro returns to Manila
  • Everyone’s all-time favorite baker Cake Boss, Buddy Valastro kicked off TLC’s biggest festival last Saturday, November 4 at the Bonifacio High Street. Fans and food enthusiasts gathered to attend this year’s festival as Pinoy pride took center stage with all things local.

We were invited to a media roundtable with the Cake Boss himself to answer questions about his experiences in the country last year, what he’s looking forward to and what to expect for the newest season of Cake Boss.

Buddy Valastro received such an amazing Filipino welcome that he came back to the Philippines. When asked about his favorite dish or a dish that he missed, the Cake Boss had only one thing in mind: ensaymada, a popular Filipino pastry made primarily with flour, eggs, and butter that’s topped with cheese.

A day before the festival, children and some personalities witness the Cake Boss teaching everyone how to pipe and decorate cakes and cupcakes. His latest fondness is flowers of different colors and variety. During the interview, he mentioned that some of his colleagues and employees are Filipinos. Some of his staff, including his head of HR, are Filipinos, giving him the chance to understand our culture better.

Episodes of Cake Boss Season 9 will air on November 13 to 16, Mondays to Thursdays at 6:15 pm on TLC Philippines.
