New World Hotels and Resorts Golf Cup 2017 Raises Funds for 16 Young Scholars
New World Makati Hotel together with AG New World Manila Bay recently concluded its second annual Golf Cup 2017 last September 29, 2017 at the Orchard Golf and Country Club, at Emilio Aguinaldo Highway, Dasmariñas, Cavite in celebration of the National Literacy Month.
This year’s tournament named the young scholars of the Springboard Foundation as its beneficiaries; with its success ensuring six years of private high school education for 16 underprivileged students.

The Golf Cup is New World Hotels & Resorts’ second sports-centered fundraising program, next to the successful Run and Raise charity fun runs which were held from 2015 to 2017. Through these initiatives, New World Hotels & Resorts is able to support and give back to local and global communities through a number of ways, including offering financial support to victims of natural disasters and educational opportunities to children, to committing to recycling and conservation efforts and providing career-enhancing training for all associates.

This will enable these children to receive quality education critical to their future. With a team score of 64, the winning flight was comprised of Antonio Payumo, Javier Berenguer-Testa, Roberto David, and Raymond Lacdao. On second place with a team score of 68 were Vedit Kurangil, Diana Kurangil, Paul Carpio, and Jeff Green. Third place winners with a team score were composed of Rene Policarpio, Celso Villegas, Joey Yujuico, and Willie Pelino. Winners took home trophies and gift certificates from New World Hotels and Resorts.
